For the plugin to be fully effective, Google requires that you submit an XML map of your WordPress site and set up a Google webmaster account.

You don’t have go out of your way with 404 Page. just as you normally create pages in WordPress. After this is done, open Settings on your WordPress dashboard. Click 404 error page, and select the page you newly created as your 404 error page. That is all there is to it.

The plugin does not create a redirect. With a redirect, the URL remains in the search Country Email List index and this can affect SEO. This plugin ensures that the correct 404 code is delivered to search engines. The plugin is very different from the others. No requests are sent to the server. Instead WordPress’ own resources are used.

404 to Start catches a 404 error even before search engines do. You can set the redirect to 301 (permanently) which is the default setting. Or you can set it to 302 which is the temporary redirects.

Whenever a user is redirected, you will know what browser they are using and the URL they are trying to access. You get to choose from settings that allow you to route 404 pages to any URL that you choose – homepage or any other page in your site.
